Canton Aargau Relies on terreActive Security Solutions
terreActive established itself as a security partner in developing e-government activities for Canton Aargau. In addition to IT security consulting services, the State Chancellery’s IT department relies on terreActive’s Managed Security and Application Management Services.
What started in the summer of 2001 as a consulting service to define the security architecture of the egovernment platform was completed this spring with the redesign of the network topology and the setup of a new firewall to the internet. This firewall is now operated and monitored by terreActive 24 hours a day as part of a Managed Security Service. It was not only the scarce resources within the network and the security team but also security considerations that favoured the following solution:
- Use of new firewall technology without having to develop know-how internally
- Additional separation of powers and mutual control mechanisms by integrating an external partner for operations
